Material Remains is human knowledge embedded into repeatable material practice. It is not an heirloom, a personal possession, or a memorial object. It is knowledge that has moved through method, process, specification, manufacturing, and material behavior until it can operate without the discoverer.
物質化された残存とは、人間の知識が、再現可能な物質操作として社会に固定された状態である。遺品でも、所有物でも、追悼の対象でもない。方法、工程、仕様、製造、物質の振る舞いへと移り、発見者なしでも作動しうる知識である。
