A person may leave behind more than objects, works, archives, images or recorded personality. They may leave behind a behavioral permission: permission to begin, to ignore established technique, to make without mastery, to remain amateur, to redefine competence, to create outside institutional validation. This permission can continue propagating long after the originator dies.
